God’s Love

God’s love is his unselfish giving of himself to us to bring about good and blessing in our lives in spite of the fact that we are unlovely and that we do not deserve it.

God loves us unconditionally - without conditions the way you are.

I want to receive God’s love in my life.

  1. Idol of self-esteem
    Solution: Put God first and serve others.
    Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
  2. Idol of success
    Solution: Obeying and loving God.
    I particularly like Charles Stanley’s statement on how obedience to God is essential to living a successful Christian life. Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.
  3. Idol of ease (our terms, our time, our convenience, being lazy)
    Solution: You will never be happy until you are holy.
    [Read the book of Amos, written at a time when Israel was most prosperous economically.]
  4. Idol of peace
    Solution: True peace comes from knowing and doing the will of God.
